    Prescription Eyewear & Service

    • A: For optimal vision, it is always crucial to start with an up-to-date prescription with the Validity Date clearly stated. Also, correct pupillary distance (PD) measurements are critical for great results, and Glasses Gallery is very excited to bring you our real time 3D Try On feature! With this unique piece of technology, you not only can try on glasses to best fit your needs but also measure your PD right at any moments you like! We did our best to provide you with customized solutions for your vision care, but you are also strongly recommended to double check your prescription for accuracy prior to submission online.

    • A: We are sorry but this is against the law (varied in different states) and we are not allowed to do that. You will need to get your prescription done by a certified eye care provider yourself.

    • A: The strongest prescriptions we can fill are:
      Distance vision: up to -17.00
      Near vision: up to +3.50
      Sport: +4.0/ -6.0/CYL +-6.00
      Eyeglasses: +10.00/-17.00/CYL +-6.00
      Sunglasses: +7.00/-10.00/CYL +-6.00

    • A: To help you get your glasses as soon as possible, you can still place an order but you will need to send us your valid prescription (less than 2 years old) so that we can process your order.

    • A: No, we are sorry but your contact lens prescription can greatly differ from your eyeglass prescription. To best serve your optical needs, we'll need an up-to-date prescription from your eye care provider to process your order.

    • A: PD is the measurement (in millimeters) of the distance between the pupils of your eyes. Your PD values can be written as one number (known as Binocular PD) if the left and right side have been added together or two numbers (known as Monocular PD) if they are different. E.g. 65 or 32/33. So why is Pupillary Distance (PD) measurement so important? Because every eyeglasses prescription has an optical center. The optical center of your eyeglass lenses is the part that gives you the best vision, and it should be directly in front of your pupils. So how to tell where is the optical center that is specifically for you, that's customized for your eyes? That's when your PD comes in place.

    • A: Now it's easier than ever! Simply use our 3D Real-Time Try On feature! You get your PD measurement right away, any time any day. However, if you like to learn more and do it manually, follow the 5 steps below:
      1. Facing the mirror with the measuring distance of about 50cm, place the ruler on the bridge of your nose. Remember the start of the ruler (the zero scale) should be placed directly below the center of one eye's pupil.
      2. Looking straight into the mirror, hold the ruler and mark the location on the ruler the center of the other eye's pupil.
      3. Measure the distance in millimeters between the two marks. This is your PD.
      4. Repeat the process two or three times for accuracy.
      5. Record your results.

    • A: PD values can be written as one number (known as a Binocular PD), which represents the distance between both pupils, or written as two numbers (known as a Monocular PD), which reflects the distance from each respective pupil to the center of the nose bridge.
Adding the two Monocular PD values together will always equal the Binocular PD. However, Monocular PD values cannot be reliably achieved by dividing the Binocular PD in half. Faces are rarely perfectly symmetrical, and it is common for one eye to be further from the nose bridge than the other. Because Monocular PD values are more precise, they are required for Progressive Bifocal lenses.

    • A: If you have two values underneath the Pupillary Distance header, it means your prescription was written in terms of Monocular PD. This is the distance from the center of each pupil to the center of your nose bridge. OD refers to your Right Eye, and OS refers to your Left Eye.

    • A: We sure do! Most of the sunglasses and sportsglasses available at Glasses Gallery are Rx-able.

    • A: Oh yes and we carry them for both adults and kids; we are dedicated to looking after the unique needs of yours and your family!

    • A: You can do a return within 30 days and get lenses with your most updated prescription with 50% off the original purchase price. You are welcome to e-mail us at cso@glassesgallery.com to find out more details.

    • A: Cylinder (CYL) indicates the amount of lens power for astigmatism. If nothing appears in this column, either you have no astigmatism, or your astigmatism is so slight that it is not really necessary to correct it with your eyeglass lenses. A CYL value can be preceded with a minus sign for the correction of nearsighted astigmatism or a plus sign for farsighted astigmatism.
Axis refers to the rotation of the cylindrical lens that is defined with a number from 1-180. If an eyeglass prescription includes cylinder power, it also must include an AXIS value.

    • A: Please e-mail us at cso@glassesgallery.com within 12 hours as we process our orders quickly; we know our customers want to get and use the products as soon as possible! Please note that if your order has already been shipped, even you contact us within 12 hours, you cannot make any changes.

    • A: Sorry but we limit one Promotion Code per order.

    • A: If you live outside of the U.S. you might need to pay for local taxes, import taxes, clearance fees and duties etc. Our prices stated on www.glassesgallery.com do not include shipment charges, or any related insurance and tax duties. • A: All our lenses are made of quality, strong, and light-weight materials such as polycarbonate or Trivex. They come with 100% UVA/UVB protection and are all precisely touched up with Anti-Reflective Coating and Scratch-Resistant Coating, and some based on your choice come with blue block coating.

    • A: Polycarbonate Lenses require special care, so clean your lenses carefully. First, blow off any particles or dust. Then, clean with water, and follows with neutral detergent to wash away any grease. Lastly, wipe them dry with a soft cotton or microfiber cloth. Do not use paper products, abrasive cleaners, glass cleaners, or other solvents as these may scratch, weaken, or crack the lenses. For sunglasses, make sure not to place them in the car or anywhere that has a high temperature as the lenses can be overheated.

    • A: We are sorry but for the time being we do not just sell lenses.

    • A: We offer three types of coatings:
Anti-Reflective Coating enhances vision by reducing reflection and increase the transmission of light. It also helps make thick lenses look thinner.
Scratch-Resistant Coating is a thin film of hard coatings that is put on the surface of plastic lenses to improve its scratch resistance. It is added to protect against damage and prolong lenses life.
Blue block coating is to block blue light that is emitted by the sun and artificial light sources such as LEDs, computers, and smart phones. Blue light can be harmful to the eyes especially the retina.
UV coating is used to filter harmful UVA/UVB rays. All our glasses, even our clear lenses offer UVA/UVB protection.

    • A: Sure we do! And they can go hand in hand with the frame you most wanted! After you pick your favorite frame, you can choose the lens type: single vision, bifocal, or progressive to match the lens function you require, say, daily use or transitions.

    • A: All Glasses Gallery clear lenses come with standard Anti-Reflective (AR) Coatings on BOTH sides of each lens. Please let us know if you do not require the coatings or need just the Scratch-Resistant Coatings.
